Christifideles Award

Congratulations to Erik Stanson, who is this year’s recipient of the Christifideles Award. This Award is given annually to a member of each parish in the Archdiocese of Chicago who demonstrates a deep commitment to parish life, reflected in their Baptismal call to serve. This award reflects the gratitude of our community for laypeople who share their talents in support of the mission of the Church.

Erik serves in our community in several ways, but most significantly in our loft at Mass. Gene Garcia, our Director of Liturgical Arts, says of Erik, “He is reliable, creative, technologically savvy, and generous. But most importantly, a wonderful mentor for the younger teens who also serve in our loft.”

Erik attended Fremd High School and, among other activities, played basketball for four years. He currently attends Harper College and is enrolled in their Nursing program. Erik is the youngest recipient of this award in the history of Holy Family. He will receive the award at Holy Name Cathedral later this month, along with recipients from other parishes. Congratulations and thank you, Erik.

Development Update

Nick Fiddick, our Development Director, has begun several initiatives including:

  • Dueling Pianos on Saturday, September 26 to begin an initiative for tuition assistance for our Academy families
  • Opening the Doors for Tuition Assistance for those who do not attend the Academy
  • Matt Maher Concert on December 4 here at Holy Family. Matt is a nationally known and appreciated Catholic composer of church music. This is NOT a fundraiser.
