Happy Father’s Day
We acknowledge and honor our fathers this weekend. As is our custom, we will all bless the fathers and father figures in attendance at each Mass this weekend. Our Holy Family custom shows our appreciation for the roles and examples that fathers are in our community and beyond.
A woman named Sanora Smart Dodd led the first campaign to honor fathers in the state of Washington in June of 1910. Presidents Wilson and Coolidge advanced the cause for a Federal Celebration. President Lyndon Johnson signed the first Presidential proclamation, and then in June of 1972 Richard Nixon signed a law making Father’s Day a permanent federal holiday
celebrated on the third Sunday of June.
Tabernacle Area Reconstruction
We have begun construction of a new display of our tabernacle. You will see a LARGE TEMPORARY wall that will keep the construction dust and activity hidden. This TEMPORARY wall will be up for most of the summer. The project is projected to be complete by mid to late August. Thanks for your flexibility and understanding as we construct a new area for the Tabernacle, a statue of Mary, and a new handicapped access ramp.

Lenten Social Justice Generosity
This past Sunday, we welcomed Fr. Jack Wall, the President of our companion in social justice, The Catholic Extension Society. Pictured below is our check presentation to him and a photo of Fr. Wall with some of the children of Immaculate Conception Church and School in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico who have benefited from our support as they recover from devastating earthquakes and hurricanes.
