Description
To Be Joyful Again is a ministry dedicated to supporting and assisting people whose spouses have died. We meet on the first and third Thursdays of every month, and also provide other opportunities for connection.
To Be Joyful Again answers needs in several areas:
- Emotional. Those who are actively grieving need to talk to compassionate people who understand. We provide trained facilitators in a small sharing group, where members can talk freely about their experience and learn from those who are farther along in the process.
- Informational. We provide an informational program monthly, with topics that range from getting through the grieving process, learning to live as a single person, or simply having fun with a topic of interest. Subject matter varies, in order to fill the needs of both the newly widowed and those who are no longer actively grieving.
- Spiritual. We are a Catholic-based ecumenical organization. Meetings include prayer, we have occasional programs on the spiritual aspects of grief, and all members are encouraged to rely on their faith to help them make it through their grief.
- Social. A surviving spouse often finds that “coupled” friendships and social outlets disappear. Our activities and meetings help members meet new friends and give them courage to go out again in social situations.
To Be Joyful Again members are helped in their healing process, and often stay to give back to others what they have received. Come join us to find the support you need to deal with this painful and difficult transition. 1st & 3rd Thursday, 7:00-9:00 PM, Lower Level 1
