Our Easter Environment

by Vicki Peters, Art and Environment Ministry Leader

What does it take to create something like our Easter environment? I like to say it takes an iPad and Pinterest! But it takes so much more. Before the idea – what if we pull the fabric away from the wall? – becomes a reality, many people take part in its logistical creation. We measure, we shop, we order, we prep, we (finally) hang the fabric. And along the way we consider all the other elements of the design and do the same for them.

But, to make that idea become more than decor – for it to become another element in the liturgical tapestry that brings each of us to a deeper sense of our faith – we discuss, we pray, we read the scripture. We take time to consider the emotion of the season, and how that single idea can create the emotion.

So, what does our bright yellow environment say to you? I hope it says JOY! I hope it fills you with the excitement of the Easter season. He is risen! Alleluia!

P.S. We are ALWAYS looking for new members.
