A Morning Prayer for You
I began crafting the following prayer during my first 30-Day Silent Directed Retreat in 1994. I have been reworking and tweaking it ever since. At first I only prayed it before reading a passage of scripture. However, during my second 30-day Silent Directed Retreat in the summer of 2023 I began praying it every morning. Since Lent is a season to practice some different or extra prayer, I consider it an honor to share this prayer that is such an important part of my spiritual discipline and inspired by the spirituality generated by St. Ignatius of Loyola.
Keehan Morning Prayer
God come to my assistance,
Lord make haste to help me.
Thank you for this day, Lord.
Give me the desire…
to calm myself (deep breaths) in you,
to trust in the goodness of your presence,
to remain in your love now, today and always.
Give me the grace of discernment
and the courage to act on it,
especially the discernment of good and evil.
As I go through my day (or read this scripture passage) may your grace re-illumine something that I have noticed before, that you want me to notice again NOW.
May your grace magnify something that I have not
noticed before, even something small, that you want me to notice NOW.
May your grace diminish anything that is distracting me from what you want me to notice NOW.
May your grace more powerfully connect my life experiences with your will and purpose for me.
Help me to see what you want me to see
to hear what you want me to hear,
to feel what you want me to feel,
so that I may return to you what you have given to me as a gift.
Amen

Our Stations of The Cross
Many of you have come to appreciate the detail in the Holy Family collection of statues now located in our Narthex. I would like to remind you of the beautiful detail in our Stations of the Cross statues on the back wall of the church. Jay Kleeman from our Maintenance Team is also an accomplished photographer and here are two pictures he took, giving you a beautiful reminder of the detail in our beautiful Stations.
