Dr. Terry Nelson-Johnson spoke to several hundred Holy Family parishioners and visitors during this years Parish Mission. The Mission is an annual event held to help the faithful to prepare for Holy Week. Dr. Nelson-Johnson spoke for three evenings using his trademark pom-poms as a symbol for how we often “cheer” for Christ during Holy Week. The reality is that Christ asks us to not just join him on his journey, but to continue the journey in his stead. The audience heard entertaining and poignant stories of faith and how they helped explain the Triduum. Dr. Nelson-Johnson encourages us to give of ourselves and to view death as, perhaps, a final sacrament transforming us to new life on Easter Sunday.
