Looking out of my office window as I write, I see a very wintry, glistening scene that God has painted.  The combination of blanketed and piled up snow gives brightness to, what seems to be, the entire world.  Even though somewhere in my mind I know that the entire earth is not covered with snow,

     I shared in my homily last weekend the various types of preparation for events or experiences in life. Preparing for a meal is different than preparing for a test.  Preparation for marathons, team sport games, interviews and college vary in intensity and form.  Advent scriptures also give us varied images and invitations and challenges,

We have beautiful rhythms to our Church rituals and seasons.  Advent prepares us for Christmas, which brings us birth, light, Epiphany, Baptism and Presentation.  A brief period of Ordinary Time always gives way to Ash Wednesday, the repentant and interior journey of Lent, which every year is followed by the action packed cornerstone of our
