Since last September a focus group has been working to more fully explore all aspects of the Catholic teachings and policies on homosexuality and work collaboratively with invested parishioners, other parishes and informed resources to help the Catholic Church become more a more welcoming and inclusive community to all, regardless of sexual orientation or marital status.
As a part of a three phase process they are working through, the focus group’s team leaders are now ready to share their informed position paper and seek input from all team members and interested parishioners. The review session is planned for Wednesday, February 25th at 7pm in the Common Ground meeting room, where the group will present the process and logic that went into the creation of the paper, and solicit feedback from those present. Phase Three: Once finalized, the focus group will be working on presenting the position paper to Church leaders preparing for the family centered Synod in Rome in October of 2015.
