Description
Our mission is to invite and embrace all families to walk more closely with Christ by sharing faith, strengthening family bonds, and accompanying one another through life’s joys and sorrows.
We share life events and support each other as we bring Christian values into our homes. The Christian Family Ministry is a religious education program for families of all ages and sizes from parents with grade school children to parents with children off at college. Children enrolled in the youth Faith group meet on Sunday mornings. Teens enrolled in the Teen Faith group meet on Sunday evenings. Children study the Bible and components of the Catholic tradition. Age-appropriate materials are used for all grades from elementary through high school.
At a typical family meeting, parents gather in a large group for an opening prayer, introductions, announcements, and a Gospel reading. The children are supervised as they watch a movie, play games with friends, or play in the nursery. The adults then break into groups to review and discuss the monthly topic. Afterward, the children rejoin the adults for a brief family social time with light refreshments.
Holy Family’s Christian Family Ministry meets regularly once each month, as well as for optional social and outreach activities throughout the year.
Preparation for sacraments is a separate path of training.
