Andrew has been a part of Holy Family for 25 years, beginning with when his family first moved to the area.

Andrew is involved in many different ways at Holy Family. He is currently the director of our Holy Family PADS homeless shelter and has been involved with PADS for the past 10 years.

He is also serves as the representative for the Justice and Outreach Community on Pastoral Council and is a member of the Knights of Columbus.

How do you spend your time when you are not involved at Holy Family?
Outside of Holy Family and outside of work, I spend a lot of time with friends.  The majority of my friends have had their first or second kids (and some have even moved out of state).  So I spend a lot of my time as a travelling “Uncle Andrew” visiting all of these “nieces and nephews!”

What would you say to someone who is thinking about volunteering?
I found that taking that first step to get involved with volunteering was the hardest, but I think that’s also the case for many people.  However, once I did get involved, I found it to be not only rewarding, but it really made me feel more a part of Holy Family.  If you are considering volunteering or would like to volunteer, I would really encourage you to take that first step.  You may be surprised as I was to see just how much of a positive impact it has on you personally as well as your overall connectedness to Holy Family.

I would also like to share that…..
My first exposure to volunteering was in college through Habitat for Humanity.  I convinced a close friend to go with me over Spring Break to Little Rock, AR with a group through the Newman Center to help build houses.  It’s been well over 11 years since we took the trip, and we still keep in touch with the group we went on the trip with.  Most importantly, my friend met his wife on that trip!  They have two sons now, and they are just a couple of the “nephews” I spoke about earlier.  You never know what can happen once you get involved…
