Building and Grounds

Maintenance and Setup Ministry

Our parish campus is maintained by our paid staff and many volunteers who give their time to help with assorted projects, room setups, event setup and clean up, and general care for the church. We are always looking for help in these areas. If you can give us an hour a month to vaccuum, dust, wash windows, set up tables and chairs, please contact Ray at 847-907-3437.

Building Committee

Our parish Building Committee meets every Monday night during periods of construction. At other times, the committee meets to continually assess the ongoing needs of the facility and advise the parish on how to maintenance our building and grounds most effectively.

Project Overview

Construction is underway on the new Center for Children, Youth, and Families. This 38,000 sq. ft., two floor structure will be located in the back of the parish facility between the Bernardin Center and the Social Center.

The vision for the Center sprung from the need for adequate space to hold religious education classes and other ministry meetings and events. After months of analysis and work with professional architects, the parish decided on the following design:

  • Two story structure, each with (8) 800 sq. ft. multipurpose educational rooms. These rooms will be used by Holy Family Academy during the day and can be divided in half (with movable partitions) to be used by Family F.A.I.T.H in the afternoons and weekends. Youth Ministry will use the rooms on Thursday and Sunday evenings for small group meetings.
  • Teen Center to occupy much of the middle space of the lower level
  • Multitorirum: A multipurpose auditorium to be used by any ministry needing meeting space for lectures, meetings, social events, concerts, plays, and other multimedia presentations.

Fundraising

Our parish has been very generous with contributions. The Home For Our Family Campaign raised funds to renovate the sanctuary and build the new addition.

Home for Our Family Campaign

  • Families who gave or pledged: 1505
  • Total Amount: $7,822,000
  • Church renovation, uncollected pledges, and fundraising expense: $1,884,000
  • Funds allocated for Center for Children, Youth, and Families: $5,938,000

Cost of Project = $6,700,000

To fill the gap, we need to raise $800,000
